Social Media + Content Marketing Associate

Material is looking for a food-loving and strategic Social Media + Content Marketing Associate to lead social media and content creation marketing. This role owns social media marketing for Material, including end-to-end planning and execution for Material’s social media channels, brainstorming creative concepts, commissioning content from our roster of UGC content creators, managing the social media calendar and light in-house content creation. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about social media and has a love for the kitchen. They know trends and how (and when) to use them as a megaphone for brand storytelling. A skilled and witty marketer, interested in smart, beautiful design, as well as home cooking and passionate about fostering community. Superb attention to detail and high aesthetic standards are key to evolving Material’s brand identity. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead creative brainstorming and execution of Material's social media content (contracting with micro-creators, working with external partners and managing light in-house content creation)
    • Develop recurring content ideas
    • Seize trends and work to flex existing creative content to be adapted to trends
    • Define + grow Material's voice across owned social media channels
  • Own social media calendar planning
  • Social copywriting
  • Define KPIs and benchmarks for social media channels
  • Generate blog posts to support social media, driving social media followers to the Material site for relevant content
  • Work with Material’s graphic designer to generate brand-right content
  • Support partnership development, working collaboratively across teams to drive an omni-channel content strategy
  • Maintain Material content library, organizing visual assets for easy team access, and updating Material’s site with relevant UGC content

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in social media management and content creation
  • Expertise in social media content production and editing
  • Excellent attention-to-detail and follow-through
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Canva and Photoshop (preferred but not required)
  • Possesses an eye for design and visual framing
  • Eager to work collaboratively across teams
  • Comfortable with remote working environments.
  • The ideal candidate will be based in New York to facilitate team-related content creation and attend monthly in-person meetings

Compensation:$60,000-75,000/year
