Dining together is an intimate tradition, and we wanted our first dining offering to feel personal. Thus, we partnered with Hye Rin Yang of Soil Baker, a South Korean female ceramicist who blends expert culinary and design expertise into timeless, long-lasting pieces.

Human hands are involved in every step of the making. The designs for these pieces were hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel and fired using traditional techniques, drawing upon the age-old craftsmanship of Yeoju, South Korea, where artisans have been producing ceramics since 918 AD. Each piece is hand-finished, and as such, one-of-a-kind and imperfect.

The clay for our collection is drawn from numerous soils (Dune, three, and Grotto, five) for a clay blend that was invented by Soil Baker craftsmen, exclusively for us. The result is a versatile color depth that changes in various light - simple enough to let your food stand out, yet detailed enough to warrant a second look.

Despite ceramics’ delicate reputation, ours are lightweight yet sturdy enough for everyday use, as well as dishwasher- and microwave-safe.
